Nothing beats a day out with man's (or woman's) best friend and there are many pet-friendly places to bring your pups in the area.

Whether you're new to the area, have a new furry friend, or are just looking for somewhere new to go, here are a few dog-friendly places that you should know.

Azalea Park has a fenced-in dog park for off-leash play.

Chris Greene Lake Park has 1 acre fenced in for dogs off-leash with a roped water access for dogs to swim.

Cunningham Creek Winery in Fluvanna County has their own vineyard dogs & a fenced dog park for visiting pups too!

Darden Towe Park has a 1-acre fenced in dog park.

Decipher Brewing is a great local brewery where you & your pup can relax.

Downtown Mall is a great place to bring your furry friend! Many of the restaurants have patio seating available for you to enjoy a meal with your pup by your side.

IX Art Park much like the Downtown Mall (& just a short walk away), the IX Art Park is a pet-friendly place with many outdoor dining options.

Pro Re Nata Brewery in Crozet is another great local pet-friendly brewery.

Riverview Park allows dogs to be off-leash on designated portions of the trail within Riverview park on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays only.

Rockfish Brewing on Preston Ave has plenty of outdoor seating where you & your pup can spend an afternoon.

Three Notch'd Brewing Company has a patio space which is heated & covered in the winter to allow dogs year-round.

Zocalo has weekend brunch for you & your pup! On Saturdays & Sundays, bring your pup to brunch with you & they'll get special chef-made treats.

We know this list is by no means comprehensive. Many of Charlottesville's local breweries & wineries are dog-friendly as well as many local restaurants with outdoor seating. Tell us some of your favorite places to bring your pups!
